| Okay, got the new blog ready.
Like Sam said, there are far too many fundamental Christians, 13 year
old girls, and fundamental Christian 13 year old girls on Xanga to suit
me. Blogger allows me to have complete control over the customization
of my site, and while I haven't quite gotten it 100% perfect yet, at
least it's a little more like I think it should be.

| Xanga is getting old...I'm working on a blog on blogger, if I can get
it customized right and just perfect, I may switch. Not that it really
matters, but it's something to do during the unoccupied hours of Spring
Break Monday.

| I just got back from a ping pong (excuse me...Table Tennis) tournament
in Cary...it's one that attracts some of the world's best players. It
was freaking unreal, to put it bluntly. I'd never seen anything like
it; the players put so much english on the ball, spinning it every
which way. Short shots, long shots...I wouldn't stand a chance playing
even the lower-tier players, and I always considered myself one who
could hold his own playing ping pong.
Very, very eclectic group there today...a very ethnic crowd and group of players. There were also some kids who
could knock your socks off, probably 9 or 10 and played (and
competed...and won!) in the top tier of players. There was one lady who
was amazing; she spoke some sort of Slavic language (or, rather, cursed
some Slavic language loudly when she made a mistake).
Best of all there were 2 German players who were the
class of the field...one of them was ranked at least #77 in the world.
They were both spectacular. I also saw a few people that I knew there,
so that was good.
We went thinking we'd stay maybe 15 or 20 minutes to see what it was
all about and ended up staying 2 hours...it was a pretty good time.
Also went to the car show at the fairgrounds. That was pretty good,
though there wasn't all that much there that you couldn't see driving
around Cary. Highlights included the Ford Fusion, Lincoln Mark LT
(seriously...who needs a Lincoln truck? It was pretty sweet,
though...), Dodge Charger, that hideous new Honda truck, and I finally
got to sit in a Magnum. Well worth the $6 admission price.

| I think I know how World War III is going to start.
China will invade Taiwan to try to take it back...heck, they're already
showing signs of thinking about it now...and a massive naval response
will come from the US and Japan to prevent the destruction of
democoracy. The situation will quickly denigrate as North Korea uses
the opportunity to invade South Korea while our strength is focused in
China. The militaries of the UK, France, and Germany will align with
the US against the massive Chinese military. Oddball countries like
India, Australia, Brazil, and Canada will play a larger than expected
role, because it's all about technology and not as much about sheer
numbers.
The key is where Russia will stand...they've been Western for a decade
or so but have been slowly regressing and strengthening ties with
Bejing. China/Russia vs. the World is more even than it might seem, I
think. And you can't stop thinking about angry Arab nations.
In the end it will be unlike any major war in history. Gone are marching armies, replaced by nuclear weapons. Everybody loses.
This is not a proposition that I look forward to.
